IMPORTANT: Entrance to the Oviedo Cathedral not included: €5 per adult; children under 12 years old, free. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO VISIT? At the appointed time, we will meet our guide at the door of the Cathedral of San Salvador in Oviedo, where we will begin our guided tour of the interior of this Gothic temple, one of the most important in Spain. There we will begin our guided tour of the interior of this Gothic temple, one of the most important in Spain. Let's find out why! We will start the tour in the central nave, where we will contemplate the stained glass windows that tell us, in just a few metres, eight centuries of the history of Asturias and the 16th century High Altarpiece, considered one of the most important in our country. We will continue our visit in the cloister and from there we will go on to the crypt of Santa Leocadia, the Pilgrims' Cemetery, the only point from which we can contemplate the apse of the Gothic cathedral and the Chapter House, seat of the former General Assembly of the Principality. We cannot miss the most emblematic part of the whole cathedral complex and one of the oldest, the Holy Chamber where the most important relics are kept, including the Holy Shroud and the treasures of the Cathedral such as the apostolate, the Victoria Cross, the Cross of the Angels and the Agathas box Oviedo Cathedral has been a destination for pilgrims since ancient times. This is where the Way of St. James began in the time of King Alfonso II the Chaste, hence the saying 'He who goes to Santiago and not to San Salvador, visits the servant and not the Lord'. After explaining the image of El Salvador, we will walk through the ambulatory dotted with altars and chapels dedicated to such important figures for Asturians as the Virgin of Covadonga, we will stop at another of the relics, the hydria and we will continue passing by chapels such as that of Santa Eulalia, patron saint of the diocese, of the city of Oviedo and of the Principality of Asturias. Outside, we'll give you the final touches, especially the portico and the secrets hidden in its enigmatic tower. You won't stop learning!
